Love it when someone links a headline to "own the cons" and the article text doesn't say anything to prove their point - and sometimes even disproves their point.
I'm seeing that as the primary method of attack for these Twitter releases besides "we don't care".
This is one where direct blame can be placed on the government, all the way to the top.
It was definitely cultivated from the top. I've said it before, but I had a co-worker once tell me that the Delta variant was "especially lethal to children" and that "the local hospital that my family member works at was expecting to be overwhelmed" and that "there would be 7,000 daily dead by the end of the week" (nearly 3 times the highest daily death counter).
The narrative was so perpetual that even hospitals were acting on information that couldn't possibly be true. The CDC tried to even re-define that herd immunity couldn't exist without vaccines at one point. The narratives that were set weren't even as bad as the narratives that were received. It was like the worst game of telephone that could ever exist.
On the Right we have our own bubbles and propagation of misinformation - but we don't have mainstream media echoing and confirming our biases. We're constantly challenged and have to constantly challenge ourselves.
Our biggest problem is that we have to ignore so much din from the MSM, that we end up forgetting that normies still occasionally watch. That's why we get surprised when normal human beings tell us the craziest Leftist shit that's ever been dreamed up. If we ignore too much of the din, we don't even have a reference point to what they are talking about.
And they talk about so much nonsense that 90% of it gets naturally memory holed. Remember that Trump was impeached for allegedly agreeing to send weapons to Ukraine? Remember that Stormy Daniels existed and was actually a replacement of a different stripper-accuser? Remember that there were six Kavanaugh accusers? Remember the BLM riots that followed after the justified police shooting of Antonio Martin that lead to several riot police being shot in the street? Remember when Merriam Webster re-defined "Sexual Preference" to be a slur because literally only Mazie Hirono said it was?
Nobody does. Nobody can keep track of just how much shit is being flung, which is why we resort to ignoring, failing to realize that most normies ignore the majority of it and only selectively remember the parts they wanted to.
