I think Mecha Ghidorah would make more sense. They have everything set up for it, with the head of the original and the leftovers of Mecha Godzilla. Also gives people a break from the team up movies and allows some solo films, like Marvel does. They are focusing too much on the people, and trying to add more with each film though.

Which is kind of funny, since this was a common complaint with some of the older Godzilla movies too. For some reason the executives can't accept that people go to movies like Godzilla for the monsters and insist on shoehorning in more human characters.
