so in "the power of the powerless" havel writes of a greengrocer that displays the party posters and messages "workers of the world unite!"
the greengrocer does not believe any of it yet displays the signs and slogans anyway because in not doing so he might be seen as a dissenter and taken away to the gulags or worse
"They must live within a lie. They need not accept the lie. It is enough for them to have accepted their life with it and in it. For by this very fact, individuals confirm the system, fulfill the system, make the system, are the system."
how much woke shit in films and games and other media can be attributed to people scared of the woke such as the greengrocer was of the party?
I think it's probably 30-40% greengrocers. But that isn't to say 60-70% are true believers. No, I think that number is closer to maybe 10, at the very most. I think nearly all wokies are simply saying what they perceive as popular, and they want to be popular too. It's a cargo cult ideology. They don't know what any of it means, they just go through the motions because it's what the cool kids do. If their TikTok feed was suddenly full of natsoc tomorrow, they'd be natsocs the day after.
Anecdotally, I only know two true believers. Everyone else simply pays lip service out of either fear or laziness.
I could write 800 words, easy, on how female social development in the education system is in a death spiral. Teenagers learn about demonic-marxist shit online and the largely female staff enable it because the women are competing with the teens sexually, whether they realize it or not, and they subconsciously put the teens higher on the totem pole. Higher than themselves. In a very literal way, the teenage girl gestalt runs high schools. "Female authority figures" (contradiction in terms) are powerless in the face of tiktok trends.
