My kids just wrapped up the school year here in New Zealand. They’re very small still, and I really wanted to take them out to the movies for the first time, sit in a theatre with a box of popcorn etc.
I must have spent about an hour online trying to find something decent for them to watch. Literally the only kids film showing in theatres was Strange World. Everywhere. Every single god damn theatre in the entire city of Auckland. Sure, there’s a couple of other kids films on the coming soon posters, but they only open up the day after Christmas (when everyone has spent all their holiday money basically).
It pisses me off because there’s no way it isn’t deliberate.
Try to ask your local theater if they could do a classic movie night. The local theaters were I live did it and they would always sell out (due to a much smaller seat price but also had awesome movies.)
Good. FUCK DISNEY.
