I buy any driving game that isn't from a company on my list, and I ended up buying Dakar Desert Rally. I'm enjoying it, actually.
But when I booted it up, I froze in horror (okay, maybe I just sighed in exasperation) when I saw "From an Embracer Group AB company" on the loading screen.
I checked the box three times and it doesn't mention Embracer Group. Even in the little terms and conditions on the back.
Should I feel guilty that I funded my enemy?
IIRC, Embracer has actually been generally hands off with controlling what their studios do, which is why they have such a wide variety of stuff coming out. From actually pretty good and well crafted games like Snowrunner to trash fires like the New Saints Row.
It does actually make me feel a little better. I don't like myself when I cross my principles, even by accident. I feel like a traitor, a sympathizer to the regime.
