Well, it was created by a team of women.

I don't find it inconceivable, I just don't see how the risk differs from being stuck with an unwanted parasite who can also kill your kids. The difference being that she can also accuse you of rape, say you're a pedophile, divorce you and take all your money, steal the kid and leave town, kill you in your sleep...etc etc.
