The more I play it again the more I appreciate the story.
Issue I have with it a things that the others had that I miss, like a proper over world.
The extreme linearity of the game.
The combat system makes the game far too easy, at least in 8 you had to abuse multiple systems to break it/make it easy.
The PS2 games are still loads better then the Crystallis series.
Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy currently consists of seven titles across multiple platforms, including sequels and spin-offs of the original three entries.
Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2, Lightning returns, Type-0 and FFXV are all part of this series.

Somehow, I have never heard it called by that name.
I just watched a video that partly went into how much Lightning Returns sucked, so I believe it. The guy said he liked 13 and 13-2, though.
