This is a slightly edited version of a page from the new 'Sabretooth and the Exiles' Marvel comic that came out this week.
Now putting the bastardisation of the 'Exiles' moniker aside this issue managed to be a return to woke form from Marvel after the recent AXE event that I've posted about a few times in the last few months.
As you can see here I've underlined in red several of the important points in what is essentially a job application/thesis/manifesto by a new character who was added to Marvel in the relaunched X-Corps series. A series that flopped.
The character is awful. Literally.
Affluent, white, female liberal ticked off in most cases. A blonde, green-eyed, and apparently self loathing white woman in STEM who admits her own psychopathy and willingness to commit torture and various atrocities on mutants because she doesn't seem them as human.
Then comes the writer soapboxing by bringing up the history of medicine and as you can see by the image capitalising "Black" but not "white" when mentioning the women involved in said history.
AXE didn't end well but it seems that Marvel have signed off on another batch of woke bullshitt after the initial ratings for AXE made things look credible enough to then green light other projects. This being one of those along with the new Deadpool comic that has a literal self-insert by the main writer who is instantly a new waifu for Deadpool fully inclusive with pronouns and androgyny.
The good news is that while this shit does keep happening many of the series that are launched end up being cancelled extremely quickly. The 'Knights of X' series lasted 5 issues over 4 months and was already replacing the previously cancelled Excalibur 2019 which at least ran for 26 issues over 2 years.
So it won't surprise me if this comic doesn't see 2024.
