That is a great Nascar game too. I know alot of people like to cite Nascar Thunder 2004 as the peak of EA Nascar games but Chase for the Cup was my shit. Me & one of my best friends to this day played the hell out of it back in high school.
And as far as GameCube is concerned, I highly recommend Dirt to Daytona, it was also a great Nascar game and devoloped by Monster Games. Monster Games also made Nascar Heat for PS1 and Nascar Heat 2002 for PS2 & original Xbox, I also highly recommend those games. Monster Games made of some of the best, maybe the best, Nascar games of the 5th & 6th generation of video game consoles.
So he was just maxing out the throttle and using the barrier to "steer"? That seems stupidly simple for something that hasn't been attempted before. That said that some scuffing on the car afterwards. I'm sure if will buff right out, though.
