No they just fucked up because Trump won and in the UK they voted to leave the EU. Those two events so close to each other screwed a lot of their plans and while they were busy trying to adjust, the people watching the crazies didn't pay attention and they all got out.

And now they are currently running around, trying desperately to put out all the fires the crazies started as it's waking people up from the slumber they were put in. One of the stories I found telling is Met police in the UK saying to the public to not 'interfere' with the stop oil protestors and to just call them so they can handle it. They are getting terrified that the public have reached the 'we'll do it ourselves' stage in which case, all their authority is gone.
