I was thinking recently about the infamous Embracer group and the George Lucas IP's that Disney currently owns, and was wondering if we can return intellectual properties to their creators and their descendants as a sort of a bribe in exchange for ideological loyalty?
I am fully aware that this will not work for several people, either because they hate us too much to accept the truth being bashed over their heads or because they already own the IP while pushing the propaganda.
People who this could work for:
-
Disney descendants: we will have to find the right ones though.
-
Whoever actually owns the IP's used in the robotech dubs: Harmony gold is hated by everyone and this will be useful for encouraging loyalty among the toy, video game, tabletop, and anime and manga communities.
-
George Lucas: he would probably love to have his IP's back
People this may not work for:
- Alan Moore: There were allegedly some issues about how he refused to properly adapt politically but we could knock some sense into him with this.
People this will not work for:
- Several former Image comics writers: one guy openly went regressive while Robert Kirkman outright indicated he had no issue with the race washing of one character in the Invincible streaming service series.
I don't know why descendants would deserve to control copyrights of their long gone relatives. Why not give Disney to Mike Lindell? Or anyone really if you have that power.
It's more of a heritage thing regarding the proper management of IP's.
