Elon should just respond back that he's increasing the layoff numbers by 1% every time they issue any lame brain demands or ultimatums.

"You're at 76% layoffs. Would you care to try for 77%?"

I'm guessing Elon already has backup tapes, redundant servers and a cadre of trusted sysadmins ready to just cut over, anyways. He may be hoping they do something stupid.
