Exactly, reminds me of an argument I had years ago with a leftist about the whole "Jesus was a communist" bs talking point, and I asked wouldn't it have made more sense for communist regimes to adopt Christianity as the state religion rather than doing their best to suppress and oppose it?
Exactly. And I hate the whole Jesus was a socialist argument. Jesus voluntarily helped others and commanded us to do so. God loves a cheerful giver because we should be helping others out of love and not via taxation or force

Exactly, there is a difference between voluntary charity and being part of a forced collective where how much you share is decided for you.
