Granma was so old that she thought Germany still had electricity.

Kipling's real poem was named The Beginnings and was about how the English should hate the Saxons and other Kaiserite Germans during WWI, the time when it was composed (and when Kipling also publicly said that the world has become divided between humans and Germans).
