I am getting a new coworker that I will likely need to work closely with, and it’s a “they/them”. Haven’t seen this person or a picture yet, so not sure if it’s a female or male at this point.
What are some tips for dealing with this? Should I just completely ignore the issue and make on as if it isn’t “a thing”, just avoiding the use of pronouns? I want to keep my job, but I don’t want to betray reality and my principles.
Get in the habit of only using their first name when referring to them to side step the whole "make them say my pronouns" fetish/power trip.
So instead of "He wants me to commit the code now" it would be "Shalandezar wants me to commit the code now".
Using titles or not even saying "who" but "what" needs to be done with direct eye contact.
You need to make sure to use their name even when they're not present. All sorts of woke snitches looking to earn good boi points for reporting you for double-plus-ungood pronoun usage.
