The Soviets actually did something exactly identical. The KGB actually invented an anti-Soviet dissident group in Russia, run by KGB agents and informants. They successfully expanded, recruited people into the organization, and with their knowledge of the underground, managed to arrest and/or execute alternative dissident groups and leaders, making their specific organization the single largest and most influential anti-Soviet group in the entirety of the Soviet Union. Thus, the entirety of anti-Soviet efforts in Russia was controlled opposition for decades until pro-Soviet Communist groups accidentally stumbled upon KGB's infiltration and subversion efforts, and realized that entire dissident careers and movements were built, from the ground up, by the KGB, literally out of thin air. Despite the Communist group's tenacity, they realized they had no enemies to fight, and all the "dangerous subversives and counter-revolutionaries" were all working for the KGB anyway.

This kind of fundamental subversion by glowfags is the primary thing that anti-establishment factions in the West must keep as their primary concern. It's not like the FBI and CIA doesn't literally make entire careers out of it.
