It's their biggest expenditure ever. The person that fronted this killed their smaller projects and pushed this All or Nothing strategy.

Long ago you used to be able to pitch things directly to their production department. Then they killed that pipeline and started in on this Big Money garbage.

They they admit Rings of Power as a failure then it all goes out the window and they are back to showing reruns or possibly closings their production studio outright.
