Even leaving the wokeness aside, it seems like the industry is becoming increasingly screwed up. There seems to be little room for having lower budgets and making the most out of them and telling a story that can stretch multiple seasons. Not that most of the stories they want to tell these days would be worth it anyways, but still.
I caught the same thing while reading it. The streaming services used big budgets to fight, and have defeated themselves with debt. The Woke angle is a sign of their ignorance to what people want, but not the killing blow.
