Female protagonists aren’t necessarily bad. Back in the day I enjoyed playing Tomb Raider, Urban Chaos, and Danger Girl. Also I remember one of the streets of rage games had a playable female and look at fighting games like street fighter.
If GTA was going to be the same type of game a female protagonist would be fine but I seriously question the motives.
These people that attack us are dense. There were always female gamers but it has always been a hobby that had more males and morons like Sarkessian and Zoe saw a problem with that and gaming companies bent the knee. I remember when game informer had an article about females in gaming every issue almost and I cancelled the subscription. The larger issue is women who don’t care about gaming who get into the industry and demand that everything change to suit them.
It gave me such pleasure when Battlefield flopped.

Blaze. Retired cop. 21. When I went round to my friend's house I always picked her. She was the fastest. Now that would be seen as evidence of some kind of childhood dysphoria but it never done me any harm. I still don't want to be a woman.
