DeSantis has been pretty good on two issues: lockdowns, and satanic indoctrination in schools. And by "pretty good," I mean that he's pushing back slightly on the school stuff, and he stopped doing statewide lockdowns pretty early.
On all other issues, though... Best friend of Israel, totally silent on monetary and fiscal suicide, fine with expanding state power in the short term and then handing it back to his enemies. He is not the guy. He should stay in Florida, where he's a real improvement over the alternatives.
Trump was pretty incompetent, and made lots of terrible hiring decisions, trusting the deep state to work with him in order to dismantle itself. He let Jared Kushner direct a lot of foreign policy. Most of what was wrong with his administration, from a MAGA standpoint, can be traced back to these two issues. It appears that he has learned his lesson on both.
In the absence of Dave Smith winning on the LP ticket, it needs to be OMB.
That's no different than Trump.
Also, who cares he's friend with Israel, you'd rather he be friend with "Palestine" ?
Why does America's foreign policy turn on a narrow strip of land on the east end of the Mediterranean?
Like I said, Trump made a mistake and trusted Jared Kushner. I suspect he's learned his lesson there.
Why wouldn't it when its opponents hate America ?
Learned what lesson ? Kushner is his son in law and brokered a massive peace deal that Trump still touts as one of his presidency's historical achievements.
What the other guy said about the US being Israel's golemn is accurate.
I would add that many of the terrorist groups that are targeted by jsoc were created by Israel (or western governments at the behest of Israel) for the purpose of destabilizing Israel's rivals. The happy byproduct of that destabilization being the push of refugees into Europe, and an erosion of their national identities.
It sounds ridiculous, but over the last 10 years I've had several MI squirrels tell me some version of this.
