Notice them slip and call it a smallpox vaccine then switch to monkeypox.

That's not a slip. They're all from the same genus of viruses, so being exposed to one provides resistance to the others. Horsepox was used for the first smallpox vaccine, and newer smallpox vaccines were proven in the 1980s to protect against monkeypox.
