Hate to break it to ya champ but the dot paintings were invented by a white guy in the 70s in order to create shit to sell to tourists. Between that and all the dreamtime stories I was made to learn in school (even worse for kids now), and the welcome to country Ernie Dingo wank, I'm sure the majority of so-called aboriginal "culture" is just made up to make them seem like equals of the Europeans who CHOSE to live like proto-hominids eating bugs and tree bark.
This is in aid of the narrative that the land was "stolen" or conquered, like it was a perfect utopia that the evil white men just claimed for themselves. In reality it was a harsh, barren land that needed to be settled and made into something livable. The early settlers were hard as fuck pioneers and nothing like the average Aussie male and female of today.
