Almost like our retarded ancestors weren't actually that retarded and learned from the guy who was eating the bugs to not do that for plenty reasons. Same reason why pork was so verboten in some religions, not because God just had a hateboner but for a reason involving people who did so dying a lot.

And most importantly, the places that historically and still do eat the bugs are the dingiest and grossest of places to this day. Where the immune systems are on overdrive just to survive to adulthood and could probably eat wood to survive.
