I just read the headline on nypost and it said they were stolen. What the fuck did I read?

Our farmers prepared another gift for the [Russians]

He's bragging about this and I read it as that. He also mentions they stole cherries. I thought it was a trap they set up in response. This is the third time this week I've read something and not completely understood it. This whole fucking thing is causing my comprehension skills to go to shit.
