Because the midterms are in 5 months
Do they not see that this will hurt them, not help them, in the midterms? These mandates piss people off and the election is a big "GTFO" button waiting to be pressed.
I'm guessing it's a play to ramp up the paranoia so that they can go big on postal voting.
Because that has never, in the history of elections anywhere, resulted in problems.
