Readers don't like him. Publishers do, even though he repeatedly gets shit on for writing completely garbage. The only things he ever writes that are "good" are things with zero background so he can't shit all over the lore or ignore established concepts, which is why his founding of the Ultimate Universe with Miles Morales in Marvel is about the only thing he made which was "good".
