They would have done individual's income if they wanted to showcase how much individuals make, but they're capitalizing on the fact most people won't remember that white households tend to be nuclear families, and increasingly, don't have their children move out, meaning 4 incomes in a single household isn't uncommon, even if all their jobs are crap jobs it showcases in household income like they're some kind of Rockefellers.
