They all are starting to do this, although I'd argue this is a bit early and others are talking about a mistake.
I was waiting for a better price on Ghost of Tsushima, and instead they delisted it, put out something called a "director's cut". I've seen it on some Square Enix titles as well. Still, usually over a year from launch and at least with the price not exceeding the original launch price.
I just wait around because they haven't put out something good enough to make me want to play it now in a long time and I always feel dumb buying a game then it being half what I paid before I even start playing it. It's not even about how much it costs, but how much I'll enjoy it and how cheap it will eventually get.
I pretty severely downsized gaming stuff I had including getting rid of my PS4 and a bunch of other stuff I never played and got a Switch. I actually find I don't mind buying a $40 Switch game a lot of times because that's about the lowest they ever go and I tend to enjoy them enough to not feel ripped off about it.
