I had to get some work done on my phone at Best Buy yesterday and while I was waiting I wandered around the different shops in the area and found a comic book store I was t aware of. I bought some back issues and I saw the High Republic comics in the bargain bin.
Still cracks me up to realize that Disney bought Star Wars and Marvel to appeal to boys. I honestly thought that was a joke when I first heard it.
What’s even funnier is that I thought Disney would do a good job with Star Wars and was even holding out hope for a sequel retcon. I no longer believe this and have since cancelled Disney plus
Disney has a habit of taking something you like, and then never letting you escape it. There will be merchandise everywhere. Commercials, toys, candy, shirts, wallpaper, stickers on fruit, etc. And then they drop it like a stone when it's no longer profitable, learn nothing from that, and do the same thing to the next property that makes them money.
I’m hindsight I should’ve been content with the old expanded universe. That’s pretty much the only Star Wars outside the first 6 I deal with. I used to love those forums and are basically the only Star Wars YouTubers I follow. There is always some sequel lover in the comments complaining. I remember I asked one why it bothers him so much that people don’t like the sequels. He is free to enjoy them and follow all the Disney backed sites.
