The author of 'None Dare Call It Conspiracy' correctly pointed out that Tricky Dick Nixon was part of this camp in 1971. Conservatives-who-conserve-nothing have been a thing for a lot longer than most people realize. Perhaps since before the moniker 'conservative' was even coined.
