Elsheikh was identified as ‘Jihadi Ringo’ after a group of Kurdish militants discovered him posing as a refugee during his attempt to flee Syria during the downfall of ISIS leadership in 2018.

Op, why did you lie for no reason? He was captured in Syria and taken to America as a prisoner from Iraq (not mentioned here, but he was originally transferred to Iraq due to the Turkish invasion of Syrian Kurdistan).
