I understand that what Tucker Carlson is saying, but he is a bit wrong in most of what he is saying in regards to Ukraine or somewhat defending Russia. Like a broken clock is right twice a day, sometimes a good clock can get something wrong.
What Russia is doing is the same exact thing it has done prior and during WWII and in the cold war. The Finnish know it, all the eastern European countries know it. They have experienced genocide at the hands of Russians in the past. In summary, what Russia is doing now is not really out character for them, and it is very much expected.
I have said in the past, more than a decade ago , that Russia is not a very good guy. Holodomor is the biggest example.
What Russia is doing is the same exact thing it has done prior and during WWII and in the cold war.
I don't think that's a fair comment. This situation is not as simple as the media makes it out to be. It's many shades of gray rather than black and white.
I made a post as an attempt at explaining that, while we were all panicking over a glorified flu from a woman's laboratory, Ukraine was signing shady deals to try and backdoor into NATO.
We also know Ukraine are hiding weapons under civilian areas in the hope Russia will hit them, because they just arrested someone for sharing that information.
We know Zelensky has banned all opposition parties and now has the "unified media" that answers directly to him like a wannabe Hitler.
There's a lot about Ukraine that doesn't fit in the little narrative that's being pushed.
Russia has done the banning of media and control most of them for years. Ukraine for the most part, banning the other political parties is very understandable as they in war with a country some of those parties liked or tangiall supported. I would even support and understand if America was invaded by China and the Republicans banned the democrats.
Russia has not changed a single bit. Even their tactics, albeit modernized a bit, still reflect their pre wwii mentality. Where they don't value human life. They have little to no rescue, little to no desire to recover their dead or injured, they have also shown no desire to protect civilians for the most part. Their soldiers are all very expendable. Their lives are cheap. You can see on their lack of training, low morale, bad to horrendous supply chain, to low communications(they even had to use people's cellphone to send orders to their soldiers back during Georgia's invasion).
Defending Russia is akin to what I have been saying before, to jump a cliff while the ctrl-left decides not to jump.
The msm is not our friend and we shouldn't trust them, but one should trust FAR Less the media coming from Russia, as almost all of them are government controlled and propaganda. Plus, no protests, you can't even say that this invasion is a war. And any journalist out of line or a person steps out of what the Kremlin says they are jailed and! Or fined.
little to no desire to recover their dead or injured
Because Ukrainians will gladly take such a cheap shot. Their entire tactic in this war has been cheap shots.
They have also shown no desire to protect civilians for the most part
Neither has Ukraine, they've been stashing weapons in residential areas and they've been hiding behind children to try and slow down Russian advances. (something that was particularly common in Mariupol, to the point that Russian troops immediately shot upwards into the floor above once they encountered children, because the Ukrainian army were always trying to ambush them from the next floor while they moved the children out of the building)

Your mistake is believing that the US media isn't also government controlled. They literally worked with the government to "verify" the Steele dossier.
You can say Russia is bad, I don't disagree. Bachelor taxes are coming when the war is over, a real slap in the face to all the men who fought.
The problem I have is that support for Ukraine is universal among my enemy, and just from that I know they are guilty of great evil, which maybe the true extent of which hasn't been revealed yet.
Because Ukrainians will gladly take such a cheap shot. Their entire tactic in this war has been cheap shots.
This did not stop NATO, America or any other western country in the past in recovering their wounded or lost behind enemy lines. In Vietnam America had the "Sandy". And They still do to this very day try to recover them. This is a major moral boost to the troops and pilots. They know that if they get shot down, and avoid capture by the enemy that they will be rescued.

into the floor above once they encountered children
Is this the one where the Chechens were firing at the building?
Your mistake is believing that the US media isn't also government controlled.
For the most part, it isn't. America has Daily Wire, Daily Caller, Blaze, Fox, Newsmax, OAN, and others. What does Russia have? 99% is state controlled.
The problem I have is that support for Ukraine is universal among my enemy,
And this is what I have been saying here all the time. Just because the person you hate, your enemy chose not to go down that particular road does not mean, by obligation you have to take it.
Another example, if the person you hate chose not to jump down the cliff, does that mean you jump down the cliff?
No, it means you sit down, analyze the information and make a proper choice. Even if that choice aligns with your enemy. Because a broken clock is right twice a day. Just because it is broken, those particular times are going to be right. This is akin to that meme, Trump drinks water, and the NPC breaks down because he also drinks water. Or Hitler drank water, and the NPC drinks water too. So, does that mean, because your enemy drinks water, you have to stop drinking water?
You can check out this documentary, that got attacked in wikipedia for displaying the real facts of the soviets, communism and nazism. The stormcucks in kia2 are acting exactly like the nazis in 1939 and 1940, they are backing the soviets Russians. https://vimeo.com/69728873
if you want, I can try and find a better copy with subtitles so you can see the testimony of people who survived the Russian onslaught.
It is a mistake, a massive mistake to make excuses for Russia and siding with them because somebody you hate chose to stand with Ukraine.

It doesn't make sense, considering a lot of the Ukrainians are normal people too. Especially that this tactic doesn't work for Russians. It would have worked for NATO and Israel for the most part(Biden bombing innocents at Afghanistan withdrawal, and Trump avoiding the bombing of innocents and calling off the attack. Israel calling and releasing leaflets to warn people). But not with Russia. If they do not care about their soldiers, their conscripts(they never did), they will care even less about people around them. If we used this logic, then Ukraine has more weapons than all countries combined to hide in all these civilian buildings: https://www.mediaite.com/tv/russian-state-tv-airs-shocking-aerial-footage-of-completely-destroyed-mariupol-host-blames-ukrainians-for-destruction/ and https://www.manilatimes.net/manilatimes/uploads/images/2022/03/23/57383.jpg
