Anyone got a more detailed explanation for this, a little out of the loop. I know about the Ellen/Alan Page troonism but what's it specifically about the being played bit?

This appears to be from the interview where page defends Jussie quite vehemently. Jussie just got sentenced. Meaning the law just declared Jussie a liar, and Page was therefore officially duped (or played like a fiddle?) into defending Jussie.
