Preventing Ukraine's entry into NATO and moving the Russian border west are sufficient reasons for Putin's invasion and not at all outrageous given the history of the region.
In fact, with the power vacuum created by Biden's theft of the election, Putin picked the best time to make the move. His bluster regarding nukes had better be believed, because mad Vlad's ass is hanging out and he personally has nothing left to lose after this move. It's a gambit that will probably work. At least we'd better hope it does because once a nuclear weapon is used, it's all over.
Why shouldn't Ukraine capitulate, install a pro-Russian president, and get on with rebuilding east-west relations?
