Why do leftoids have to frame absolutely everything in terms of Harry Potter or Star Wars? Even on the brink of war they must consoom.
Because they've been stripped of their culture and history. They cannot use any traditional cannon to justify their position, so they have to use what they do know: vapid pop culture.
Brings up a question - what is American mythology? What canonical archons can we reference? The founding Fathers?
Certainly. Teddy Roosevelt and Lincoln also deserve a nod. Edison & Tesla, too. Henry Ford, warts and all. Ralph Waldo Emerson is a good one, Western Frontier mythology-- from the Old West to Mark Twain is good, HP Lovecraft's vision of New England is solid, and Gone With the Wind. Last of the Mohicans and Call of the Wild also deserve a nod.
Invoking the Minutemen and Paul Revere would have worked much better in this case. (I bet this tweeter couldn't place Lexington and Concord in history, let alone tell you what state it happened in, though.)
