Unless they promised him one title to retire as a champion. It's not like any other team could compete with Mercedes in that era.

I love the argument LH fans make, that the Masi call prevented the 3rd and 4th place cars from racing. It was a McLaren (Mercedes) and the horsecrap 2021 Ferrari.

Am I really supposed to believe they wanted Ferrari to fight for (irrelevant) extra points after kneecapping them during a lockdown period with a forced engine rebuild because they got too close to LH?

Justice was served.
