The Libs were in 3rd place when Justin was elected leader. Since 2015 he's been in power despite countless scandals. The last election he ran on pro-segregation and gained 5 seats.

Morally they shouldn't have, but strategically it's been proven to be the right move. There's a crazy Trudeau cult in Canada.
