Not sure if anyone is watching rn, or saw Green Bay vs 49ers yesterday, or Dallas the week before, but fuck, the sport is in a bad place, right now, with officiating, and “rule application”, and strategy, and gameplay, and just… All that bullshit. Never mind the commentary, with commentators (on NBC) one of whom does not know who Rube Goldberg was, or what a single scull is… 😳

Last commercial I saw was watching a movie on a free streaming service. A Pfizer sponsored ad was “debunking” rumors about the jab. It was hilariously cringe but I wonder how many fools they dupe.
Otherwise with commercials I play the “Can I spot a white couple” game. I don’t often win.
Yeah, interestingly this is a fundamental difference between the US and Aus, from at least the brief snippets of your commercials, that I see (because, as I said, our ads are edited in over the breaks in play)…
“Your” commercials are fucking weird, to me…
Much more “narrative”, than ours. Much more… “Storytelling”. You don’t just see the product - you have a weird, generally woke, lead up to it being revealed. That isn’t really the same where I live (small, regional area. Ads are localized, generally). At least, not for simple tech shit…
It also seems like your ads are obsessed with “Muh latest tech”, and “Muh long, complicated buzzwords”, plus “Muh celebs”…
We have this, too (not so much the celebs, anymore, at least), but it’s just… Really jarring, to me, on American ads, even for the same company or product…
We definitely have woke ads, here, too, and the shoehorned diversity is equally cringe, but you guys take it to another level…

Australia is much, much more like Britain and Ireland, in this regard. More so than Canada, too, methinks… And also our sense of humour.
Which makes the shoehorned, “localized” woke “ghetto” ads for various products, both local and not (notable examples being any company associated with basketball, and the Natural Confectionary Company, plus cars), utterly jarring, to anyone older than say… 25? Or even a bit younger. Because our Zoomers are completely hypnotized by “ghetto” shit, now, just like their American equivalent. 😑
But anyway, I get it. Just interesting to note the slight differences there. 🤷🏻♂️
