I agree with you. The real cure for bad speech is more speech not less, like through censorship
The wild west days of the internet were one of an almost surreal and self aware brotherhood. We knew not to read YouTube comments and never to trust Wikipedia. Nowadays you lose a career over a single tweet-- it doesn't even have to be yours.
To survive in these digital realms to need to either go full business/sterile. No commentary just buy my thing. Which hampers effectiveness of engagement. Or completely compromise all your beliefs to cater to the political inclinations of the specific company that owns the platform. Assuming they aren't strong armed by yet another corporations political whims
