Ridicule and outing of shills, trolls, anyone trying to disrupt constructive discussion and debate, or anyone trying to censor truth, regardless of means, is necessary to the health of a forum. I can understand your position, but it's ultimately self destructive, because if we did as you say we'd be preventing a necessary condition for keeping the forum healthy. There's a damn good reason why people ridicule others, even those they love. It's meant to keep a community homogeneous and healthy, so it can pursue common goals. It's meant to test people, to see if they're strong enough to stand up to challenge. It's also meant to out weak and ingenuine people who could bring down the tribe.
This is one of the reasons why modern people are so weak, because we're told not to do this, because it's "mean". At the very heart of that idea is the prioritization of people over truth. The moment you prioritize people over truth, truth becomes the first casualty, and people inevitably after. It's why when the left gains power they must censor truth as much as possible, and why their regimes usually lead to mass misery and death, and ultimately fail.
You're suggesting that trolling is always bad, which you derived from the averaged experience that trolls are bad, therefore it's bad even when good people do it for good ends. It's the same naive argument that all violence is bad, or all censorship is bad, therefore good people should never ever be violent or censor. Just as I'm fine with good people using violence for good ends, or censoring stuff like porn or other degenerate crap, I'm fine with good people trolling actual trolls for good ends.
