Can confirm ish. I was like, 5 by the end of the 90s but in the 2000s growing up in a place that was a mix of suburban/rural (with urban areas maybe a 15 minutes drive, probably 5 now) you'd have people openly grouse about minorities. It's still there but we use the more general "criminals" or "crime" now.

Course, we all know the %'s with 15% of the population 😏
