GW have been trying to 'Monetize their IP' for at least 30 years, the first push ended up with Warcraft (And judging from the Feminista state of Blizzard today went 100% as planned) before that fell through, as the Blizzard guys wanted to actually put a story to it rather than Green v Pink
Then they shelled out to any 'Developer' (Read: Anyone with a computer) for decades after, resulting in the absolute dogshit we have today, with the most competent version being Vermintide, which is a Left 4 Dead reskin.

I disagree, Dawn of War: Soulstorm Unification is by far the best 40k experience I got and Total War Warhammer 2 the best battle chest experience I got in videogames.

Blizzard from 30 years ago isn't the current Blizzard. 96% of the people now, were babies when it came out or adolescents.
The most competent GW IP game is Total Warhammer though.
Blood Bowl 2 is pretty much a straight port of the tabletop game to PC as well
