Edit: further research; "Her decision is based on a constitutional practice that says a prime minister should resign if a party leaves the governing coalition."
The Greens threw a hissy fit, because dirty evil conservatives presented an alternative budget that they would have needed to work within and abandoned their coalition rather than cooperate like little bitches. This obligated the prime minister to resign.
