Yes, this exists. Yes, there are several of them. Yes, someone posted this a few weeks ago.
Now, apart from all that… The antisemitism and Holocaust denialism in this thread is absolutely fucking wild… And I despise Israel and pretty much everything about its “history” and “achievements”, so that’s… Really saying something…
Dude, tell me about it. I don't doubt there was some exaggeration and inflation to make us the good guys, but I think they really jump the shark sometimes. To say that they got postcards and had a grand old time is silly. There were work camps and people were starved almost to the point of death for sure. The rest? I don't know enough to verify.
Yeah, it’s… Beginning to worry me how extreme some of the “rhetoric” here is becoming…
Perhaps I’m just… Not exposed to that, in my country, so much. Idk. Maybe this level of… Denialism is more “normal”, elsewhere, now…
But it’s… Full on.
Re your comment, yeah, that’s like what the Japs did in their “work” camps (Thai-Burma Railway, Changi, Nanking and Manchuria, etc) - worked and starved people to death… That’s a HUGE thing in Australia, because that’s where many of our soldiers, and a few civilians, died…
Re the Shoa/Holocaust specifically, though. I do believe it. I’ve been to a concentration camp (subcamp of Neungamme), though this was a “work” camp, rather than an “extermination” camp… I’ve met survivors. I’ve also seen some of the… Aftermath of the Armenian genocide in Turkey. And I know a couple of survivors of Rwanda. So… I do believe it. I just also know it wasn’t “unique”, in most ways. The most “unique” aspect was the industrial-scale and “machination” of the killing. And perhaps arguably that Germany is the most “developed” country/empire to have this happen. Other than that, this shit happened like 5 - 10 times in the 20th century ALONE, let alone beyond that… The Jews aren’t “special” in that sense. Nor was it the most “successful” or “complete” genocide, either…
The fuck am I getting downvoted for this, for..?
I’m talking lived experiences here, and being downvoted because literal facts don’t suit your pre-existing narrative..?!
Come the fuck on! 🙄
Political minorities almost always have to be more tolerant of other minority/fringe beliefs. When your beliefs are outside the mainstream, you can’t afford to be too exclusive.
For what it’s worth, I agree with you. The holocaust happened. I’ve seen enough of humanity to know people are capable of that kind of blind evil.
