for all you fucking gamer nerds who ordered a steamdeck the hardware has been delayed by 2 mo.

Sucks. I was looking forward to seeing emulator performance on it before maybe ordering one for the holidays. Guess not then, oh well
These are probably gonna be sold out for a while, does suck. At least nintendos are available, and you can emulate some games on there.
I'll buy one eventually if the reviews are good and the controls are - contrary to expectations - comfortable. Have my doubts about the initial prototype.
the prerelease reviewers seem to like the controls... i do agree that it might be too heavy or clunky to be ergo in longer gaming sessions. it could really benefit from a us tour or something to get people more acclimated to it (kinda like ninty does)
This is 100% of the issue for me. Unfortunately, I only trust myself for evaluating these things, so buying one is simply not an option until I can put my own hands on it.
It looks like a Game Gear with a worse button layout. I'll be happy to try it in a Best Buy in 8 years, I guess.
thats the most likely problem with steamdeck, i think prettymuch all the other specs look great. and the switch can be heavyish if youre playing for a really long time, and the steamdeck weights about 50% more than switch does. I think the steamD could benefit greatly if the controllers were removable like nintendo, then you could table game and the weight isn/t that much of a factor anymore. but its everybodys guess when ever this will be released. I'd say 3-4 years before its widespread at physical stores, of course that relies on biden solving the shipping fiasco, making it harder to tell when the chips will be available, but i think undoubtedly it will be a major hit, even with the coming wait. and fuck the little fag who keeps downvoting this thread. I bet its fuckboysinc from calling him out last night
I'll keep enjoying the GPD Win Max I already have, it still bothers me that so many people think Valve came up with some sort of new concept.
GPD costs... $900? So valve is the first to make an affordable mobile gaming pc. And gpd isnt the first to have a high power handheld... that was already done 20 years ago.
GPD is just a smaller netbook, with $500 notebook internals. the valve will have gyro aiming, user replacable memory (doubt your gpd does), expandable, and theyre increasing the adoption of linux with most games and releasing their own version that will perform better than winblows 10. after releasing GPD, they have done nothing to further the compatability of games outside of that walled garden.
valve is building a lot more than a medium spec netbook. and all that for $500 less than your cheaply made chinese pc.
can your gwin even install anything besides w10?
preorders get what they deserve
Uh, no? You cant just control + c and copy a console. Thats not close to the same thing as noobfucks ordering digital copies.
For all the faults Valve has, I have to admit that their support for self-fixing their product is really top-notch.

Cellphones should follow the same model. It would have been much easier for me to change the battery of my phone, and Frankenstein it with an upgraded battery from its next model line.
But then how would the phone manufacturers get people to buy a new phone every year?
Well, if these idiotic hippies actually cared about the environment, they would have cared more about right of repair of a phone than on fucking straws! But we live in a clown world so... heh!
I wish they were hippies: hippies would be more likely to sell a repairable phone.
For years I've simply wanted a phone that could run on AA or AAA batteries. Exactly one was ever made but no longer works since it was 2G only.
Why do you want those? you would spend more on batteries in a month than the phone cost... lmao
I wanted something like my xbox 360 controller that has the battery pack but can also takes AA or AAA batteries. So in a pinch I could throw some batteries in the thing and be good to go but not have to use them.
I also wanted to be able to throw an extra phone and some batteries in my car emergency kit without having to worry about keeping it charged.
haha, i cant imagine apple releasing a video like that on a new product. any video they released for how to repair a mac is probably 5 minutes of silence with a picture of some normie going to 'genius' bar.
upgrading your battery is pretty stupid. you can easily overheat your phone, especially for one with poor heat dissipation, which is most china phones, if its not designed for a larger (in size) battery then youre going to screw your phone up somehow. if you need longer battery, you can A: buy a 2nd battery and get a repairable phone, or B: buy a dumbphone. the second one costs as much as a battery and it will last all week without a charge. you could buy a spare battery for that and have two weeks without a charge.
This one is actually much cooler than with the OG battery. It is using the S7 Edge battery on a S6 Edge phone. It didnt fit perfectly, but the case holds the back of the phone well. And the only thing heating up is the cpu. The one before it, the original, it would make the phone REALLY hot.
Good upgrade in my view :)
Did it on two S6 Edges, and both work well. It was a pain to open it up, and then unglue the old battery.
