To give you some idea how psychotic Australia has become, this song was enough to get Ziggy Alberts cancelled, because it is mildly critical of lockdowns and masks:
Like, fucking hell. The bloke is a MASSIVE hippy, whose views otherwise align almost completely with the left (stereotypical hippie, in fact, but of course that now makes him an "antivaxxer", like the rest of us, doesn't it..? :-/), and yet the "left", here, both mainstream media AND on socials, tried to have him "cancelled", and destroy his life, purely because he said/sang something they didn't like...
The incident with the Dixie Chicks (yes, the dumb cows who changed their name) and Bush happened LESS THAN 20 YEARS AGO, and now THEY are the ones cancelling people, including other musicians, on the other side. Amazing...
You give too much credit to these people when you point out hypocrisy and the fact they didn't learned a thing.
All people involved know exactly what they are doing and enjoy every tiny bit of it.
It's not about the virus or safety, it's all about power tripping and making sure the chilling effect is maintained.
SMH is undeniably a lefty paper (its stablemate at Fairfax, The Age, owned by the same parent company, is known by its many, many enemies, including me, as Pravda on the Yarra), but I figured y'all would hate it less than WaPo or (the Australian) ABC...
This is all over the news, though.
They've been trying to destroy British/Irish Bob Dylan for well over a year, now, after he released songs critical of lockdowns and the government response (no, I'm not joking). This is just the latest step.
Fortunately I think Van the Man can probably afford to fight this one in court, inshallah. Unlike the rest of us, of course...
The precedent this sets, though? Wow, just wow... Tell me again how Airstrip One (the UK) isn't a fucking communist state, at this point..??!
