Austin Powers was too perfect a pastiche of Bond. They had to ruin Bond to avoid playing into the Powers jokes, and instead of leaning into it, keeping the character intact, and having a laugh along with the audience, they sucked the humor and camp out of the franchise.
Arcdher and Get Smart are more fun, anyway. Bond has sucked since they took his toys away.
