Do you think there is a way to reverse the societal trend where people who claim to be victims and or offended seem to get rewarded and woe unto anyone who tries to make them see reality. What is really sickening is seeing people be lauded as heroes for the most nonsensical things like believing you are the opposite sex, being a millionaire while claiming to be oppressed, or talking about how fat you are to thunderous applause.
I really think to massively overused words today (besides racist) are victim and oppressed. Definitely takes away from actual victims or oppressed people in the world who get zero recognition.
I know some think I am naïve for believing it but I am a firm believer in judging by the content of character and looking at the individual. I think everyone should have equal opportunity. Yes, that means certain groups will be overrepresented and certain ones will be underrepresented. Such is life. Perhaps that would force some people to look at behavior instead of jumping to the victim mentality safety blanket.
Granted that would be if I could wave a magic wand, but I am a bit more pessimistic. Do y'all think there is any way to reverse this trend? I have had a little luck dealing with individuals but more failures than success.
More people need to be punched in the face.
Not necessarily attacked, but more people need to have experienced the sensation of being punched in the face. People who do not have this life experience tend to be severely lacking in perspective in my estimation.
I know what you mean. Good point
