Was about to say the same thing. Got dragged into one by a friend aaand uuh yeah. There was a surface veneer of "friendliness" but there was so much hateful tension , not aimed at me, but between the people there. They were all constantly trying to one up each other.
Literally parodied in Little Britain with the sketch about "The only gay in the village" which hits this exact point when another gay shows up. Up until then it was the classic virtue signaling and attention seeking but the second gay character takes things exactly how you expect it to go when a drama "queen" suddenly has competition. As we've seen repeatedly in GG regarding Chelsea and John for example.
I'd add in the others but not only have I forgotten their names, because "literally [fucking] who"?, I've also got few ways to distinguish them any more since they've all hit the wall and become hamplanets so making a pun about "they're too busy eating" doesn't distinguish which one I'm referring to now. Something Harper? Honestly I don't care at this point.
This tells me he's never been to a gay bar.
