I'm suggesting their leaders should be tried in a war crimes court and the rest of them should have to go through a process similar to de-Nazification.

Then they get to keep the worst of what their ideology gave them, lose all their ill-gotten gains and effectively end up as what they made men. Forgotten, ignored and forced to take the worst jobs just to live.
